Dan Fagerholm’s Hand Drawn Animated Gifts. A delight to watch!

Jamie Beck and Keven Burg are 2 names famous for introducing a technique known as cinemagraph which is used for publishing still images in animated GIF format to give them an amazing look.

Dain Fagerholm, a Seattle-based illustrator, has taken this technique to a new level. He has used GIFs to give a 3-D effect to his creations. He used this technique to give life to his hand drawn monsters. He was able to do this by changing a couple of images continuously with slightly shifted perspectives.

The concept of stereographic images isn’t new. It has existed for hundreds of years. But what’s interesting is that Dain has used this technique on hand drawn images. And above this, there is an inherit cuteness in of all Dain’s illustrations. It looks as if children books images have come to life.
